Prince Lobel Glovsky & Tye hosted a VIP reception prior to Ford Hall Forum’s 2010 Louis P. and Evelyn Smith First Amendment Award ceremony. This year, Ford Hall Forum honored The Foundation for Individual Rights in Education (FIRE), which dedicates itself to defending and sustaining individual rights at America’s colleges and universities.
On hand to accept the award were FIRE President Greg Lukianoff, FIRE board member and best-selling author Steven Pinker, and FIRE co-founder and civil liberties lawyer Harvey Silverglate.
For the past 29 years, the Ford Hall Forum’s Louis P. and Evelyn Smith First Amendment Award has honored individuals who have demonstrated extraordinary commitment to promoting and facilitating the thoughtful exercise of our rights of freedom of expression. Prior award recipients include Gwen Ifill, Anita Hill, Rosa Parks, Pete Seeger, Maya Angelou, and many others.
