Peter A. Kuperstein Quoted on Bloomberg.com: NFL Players Poised to Cut Alimony May 9, 2011As the NFL
lockout continues, many players are seeking modifications to their child
support and alimony agreements. Unless the NFL can reach a collective
bargaining agreement with its union, players will not receive their paycheck. The
article states that “players are lining up to get child support and alimony
payments lowered to reflect what would be reduced incomes should their leagues
shut down.”
According
to Peter, “An athlete’s out-of-pocket expenses for things such as health
insurance rise during a lockout, since teams aren’t paying. The likelihood is
that a majority of these players are the ones maintaining health insurance for
children and, potentially, their ex-wives.”
