Police Won't Release Records of Rye Drive-By Shootings Seacoastonline.com June 10, 2010Paige A. Scott Reed is quoted on Seacoastonline.com regarding the release of police records concerning two drive-by shootings in Rye, NH. The local police department refuses to release the records, stating that doing so would “hinder the ability of the Rye Police Department from apprehending the person(s) responsible for these actions.”
The Portsmouth Herald has filed a motion with the Rockingham County Superior Court asking a judge to review the police records on the matter and to rule whether any of the information should be made public.
Paige Scott Reed, speaking on behalf of the Herald, stated: “When there has been a serious crime, compliance with the public disclosure law is critical.
