Joshua A. Lewin, an associate in Prince Lobel's
litigation practice group, has been
selected as an “Up and Coming Lawyer” by Massachusetts
Lawyers Weekly, in conjunction with the Massachusetts Bar Association. This
award is presented to 20 attorneys who have practiced law for fewer than ten
years, yet have already distinguished themselves in the legal profession.
Josh has extensive
experience litigating a wide variety of cases, ranging from complex business
disputes, discrimination claims and insurance coverage disputes to catastrophic
injury and death claims. Josh defends telecommunications, health care and
petroleum companies in business, personal injury and wrongful death claims and
has represented condominium associations in a variety of matters. Josh also
defends institutional clients against consumer claims arising under the Federal
Fair Credit Reporting and Fair Debt Collection Practices Acts and recently
prevailed on such a claim in the First Circuit in a case raising several issues
of first impression. In addition to Josh’s regular caseload, in March
2009, he was selected by the Suffolk County District Attorney to serve as
Special Assistant District Attorney. In that capacity, he will be prosecuting
cases for the Special Prosecutions Bureau on a pro bono basis.
Outside of court, Josh is
involved with several non-profit organizations and for almost ten years has
served as a “big brother” for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Massachusetts Bay and
was selected as a finalist for Big Brother of the Year in 2006. He also hosts
an annual golf tournament to raise money for Big Brothers Big Sisters and his
efforts have helped raise more than $165,000 over the past seven years. Josh was
named a “Rising Star” by Boston magazine in 2007 and 2009.
