Jeffrey J. Pyle Mentioned in The Eagle-Tribune Regarding Principal’s Contract March 8, 2010At issue is the contract of a vocational technical high school principal, which school board representatives say allows her to continue collecting a salary even though she has not worked since late 2009. School officials formally announced her resignation in February 2010. According to the school’s superintendent, the principal’s contract requires them to pay her through the end of the school year.
The Eagle-Tribune has filed a formal request under the Massachusetts Public Records Act for a copy of the contract, but the school’s lawyer has not made the contract public, claiming that it is a personnel document and therefore not public record. Prince Lobel Partner Jeff Pyle, representing the Eagle-Tribune, stated that a contract between a school district and an employee is not exempt from the public records law.
