Joseph Giammarco Quoted in Sharon Advocate

Neighbors Still Not Satisfied With Cell Tower Requests
May 14, 2009

The Zoning Board of Appeals in Sharon, MA met again to hear neighbors' concerns regarding applications to install a wireless antenna in a church steeple and a cell tower elsewhere in town.

According to the Advocate, neighbors stated that the applicant had not complied with the town’s bylaws on wireless broadcast equipment in that they had not indicated a particular search for other locations outside of the historic and densely populated town center.

Joseph Giammarco, representing firm client Omnipoint Corporation, went “point by point through the objections raised by the neighbors.”  Giammarco noted that the reason the company wanted the steeple site was that it afforded better coverage in the center of town.  “There is a service gap here and having an antenna in the church steeple would help solve that issue,” he said.
