Amy B. Hackett is an associate in Prince Lobel’s Litigation Practice Group. Her practice includes representing financial services companies in prosecuting and defending claims relating to the origination and collection of mortgage loans. Amy also represents other commercial entities, including general contractors, subcontractors, developers, and property owners in connection with a wide range of complex civil matters.

Representing clients in state and federal courts as well as before the Massachusetts Appeals Court, Amy’s cases involve commercial contract disputes, insurance coverage disputes, employment disputes, and tort claims. Amy’s approach is to develop comprehensive case strategies that provide her clients with efficient, cost-effective, and successful resolution of their claims.

Amy's recent successes include:

  • Prevailing in the Massachusetts Appeals Court in a case involving a contract for the sale of commercial property
  • Successfully proving claims for equitable estoppel and equitable subrogation to establish a first lien position for a financial institution at trial in Norfolk Superior Court
  • Defeating summary judgment in Essex Superior Court on behalf of a general contractor on claims against it for misrepresentation and violation of 93A arising out of work on a construction project

During law school, Amy was a judicial intern for Judge Reginald C. Lindsay of the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts. Amy was also a summer associate for Brown Rudnick LLP and a law clerk at Prince Lobel. While at Northeastern University School of Law, Amy served as a teaching assistant for a first-year contracts course, participated in Northeastern's Criminal Defense Clinic, and was a member of Northeastern's National Mock Trial competition team.

Amy received her J.D. from Northeastern University School of Law, a Master of Arts degree from the University of Massachusetts Boston, and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Connecticut College.
