Nancy A. Freed is a partner with more than 20 years of experience in the field of domestic relations. Licensed to represent clients in both state and federal district courts, she is frequently appointed to serve as guardian ad litem by justices of Probate and Family Court, both in family law and estate-related matters. Nancy has expertise in the areas of custody, support, complex and high net worth business evaluation and related tax issues. She has been a member of the firm since 1988 and a partner since 1991. Nancy is also a member of the MA Probate and Family Inns of Court. Nancy has a significant amount of trial experience, including landmark cases involving alimony and prenuptial agreements.  

Nancy is the author of several published articles on a range of domestic relations issues, and has served on various committees of the Massachusetts and Boston Bar Associations concerning Probate Court procedural matters and the legal needs of children. In addition, she has shared her knowledge with others as chair and lecturer in numerous family law courses and seminars through Massachusetts Continuing Legal Education. Most recently she presented on personal financial statements at the MCLE seminar “Enhance Your Family Law Financial I.Q.- Basics and Beyond: A Family Lawyer’s Guide to Money Matters in Divorce.”

Nancy has spoken at the Northeast/Mid-Atlantic Regional Conference for the National Association of Personal Financial Advisors on the matter of divorce planning. She presented a case study on how financial planners can be helpful during the entire process of a divorce.
